Lifelong Education

Students not formally admitted to a graduate program may take up to 10 credits as a Lifelong Education student. This status allows non-MSU students to take courses without the typical admissions requirements (GRE test, application fee, transcript documentation...).

Lifelong Education status is a great option if you:

     •   are just interested in a single course and do not want to pursue another degree

     •   aren't sure you are ready to juggle classes and your other responsibilities

     •   have never taken an online class and just want to test the waters before committing to an entire online degree

     •    want to reduce your initial financial investment

     •   are in the process of applying to the program, but want to take courses immediately while collecting documentation and waiting for acceptance (generally students are admitted and enrolled as Lifelong Education students within 10 days).

Costs

Students under the Lifelong Education status can take graduate level courses at the rate of $526.25 per credit hour, plus semester-based student taxes and energy charges (approximately $150 per semester). Lifelong Education students do not pay a Matriculation Fee. Lifelong Education students who later decide to apply to the PSM Online Program will not be assessed the tuition difference between the Lifelong Education rate and the Online PSM Integrative Pharmacology Program rate. For more information on tuition rates, visit the MSU Controller's Office web page.

Restrictions

Though the Admissions Committee does consider graduate coursework in making determinations, the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology cannot guarantee that you will be given a slot in the Integrative Pharmacology program even if you have successfully taken some of the program courses.

The maximum number of courses that can be transferred into the Integrative Pharmacology Masters program is 10 credits. These credits must be from the list of the program degree course requirements. Talk to your advisor if you would like to have credits transferred into your doctoral program.
